Meet Sgaeyl! Sgaeyl is a beautiful 7-month-old traditional tricolor German Shepherd who is on the smaller side and may stay around 50–60 pounds full-grown. She is kennel trained, house trained, uses a dog door, and is doing well with leash walking—although she seems to think weaving in and out of your legs is the best way to walk. Sgaeyl loves chasing bugs in the backyard, running after the other dogs during fetch, and playing with her canine friends. She isn’t particularly interested in toys, but she does have a special appreciation for a good pair of shoes. She absolutely loves other dogs and would likely enjoy having a confident canine companion in her forever home. She doesn’t seem particularly interested in cats and is more likely to be a little intimidated by them. Sgaeyl is still building her confidence and has shown that she can feel unsure around younger children. Because of this, a home with older, respectful children may be the best fit for her. I would say children 12 and older. Once she warms up and feels comfortable, her sweet personality really begins to shine. She is a gentle, loving girl who just needs a little patience, encouragement, and time to become the confident dog she’s meant to be.
