The shelter named her Ursula but she is not an Ursula.. we call her Gigi because she has the longest little neck like a giraffe.She weighs almost 8 lbs and she is precious. She was almost euthanized at the shelter because they were full and she was deemed unadoptable because she was so matted. Thank God a clinic employee stayed late and shaved her, called me and Mary Ruth said “yes”! I got her the day after she was spayed and she was so pitiful. Once I realized she had been anesthetized two days in a row, i understood why she was so lethargic. She is coming along every day. She is fine with other dogs but prefers humans for LOTS of lap time. Because she is a frail little one, she would probably be best in a home with no human siblings under 12. She sleeps in her kennel and goes in it during the day with the door open. She is housebroken… so basically she is perfect for someone that has a lot of time to love her!Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters.The application is the first step. We do not have any paid staff members. Our adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies, HW check, and microchip. Russell Rescue dogs are fostered in the Middle Tennessee area. We do not ship/transport our dogs, so the approved adopter must be willing to travel to Tennessee. Russell Rescue will try to first place our rescue dogs locally or in surrounding states.Russell Rescue is not open to the public for visiting hours. We do not have a physical location of our own.
