Hi! My name is Winston, but my foster parents call me Winnie because they say I’m the cutest, sweetest little guy around.
I’m about 5 years old and weigh 30 pounds. I’m ready to find the forever family I’ve always deserved. My first five years weren’t easy because I lived outside before being rescued, but you would never know it from how much I love people. Every day I’m discovering how wonderful it is to be part of a family, and I can’t wait to find one of my very own.
I’m a pretty unique-looking guy with my long, glorious tail and adorable pink nose! I was diagnosed with discoid lupus, but has been easily managed with medication, and it doesn’t stop me from enjoying life.
If you’re looking for a best friend, I’m your guy. I absolutely love meeting people, whether they’re visitors at the house or new friends I meet on my daily walks. I’m happiest when I’m getting pets and cuddles, and if you stop petting me too soon, I might give you a little bark to remind you I wasn’t quite finished soaking up the love!
I get along well with my foster dog sister, but I’ll admit I like being the center of attention. Because of that, I may be happiest as the only dog where I can soak up all the love for myself.
I’m learning so much in foster care! I’ve already mastered “sit,” I sleep great in my cozy soft crate at night, and I’m getting more comfortable spending time in my crate when my foster parents leave the house. I can get a little anxious when they leave, so someone not gone long hours would be best.
I’m also doing well with house training. I’ve only had a few accidents, mostly marking, and as long as I’m taken outside regularly and supervised, I do great. Wearing a belly band has also helped while I continue learning.
Walks are one of my favorite things! I’m easy to walk and love getting out once or twice a day. I also enjoy zooming around the backyard and letting the neighbor dog know I’m there with a few enthusiastic barks. I am not a good fit for an apartment situation and require a fenced in yard.
The vet isn’t exactly my favorite place, and I can be a little sassy because I’m nervous. But I did make it through my dental with nine extractions. Once I have a chance to settle in and trust the people around me, I do much better. I haven’t been tested with cats or kids or respectful children 10-+ may be considered.
I’ve waited a long time for a family to call my own. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, funny little companion who will adore you with his whole heart, I would love to meet you. I have so much love to give, and I just need someone to give it to.
If you are interested in meeting me, the first step is to complete a meet and greets application at
