Calvin comes to us as a stray after he was discovered darting in front of a vehicle on a roadway, and his finder fearing he was injured. When our officer arrived on scene, it was determined that Calvin had sustained some type of injury and was then brought to the shelter.Keeping him comfy and treating him for his wound, Calvin settled in until his family could come and be reunited with him. Sadly, this little guy had no microchip, no ID tag and after being shared to our website as all strays are, no family ever came to claim him. Undetermined how he received his injury, he has been treated and is now healing nicely! Calvin’s stray chapter has closed and a new one begins, as he awaits his family to find him with the promise of forever!Calvin met a taller neutered male friend here and his fast tail wags were instantaneous, followed by curious nose-to-nose sniffs! This friendly goofball did great! Because he was a stray, we don’t know how he does with cats and have no way to test for that. We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit. We are a first come, first served and in-person adoption center and are located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville, NC. We are open for adoptions Monday-Friday 12-5pm and Saturdays 11am-2pm.All of our adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and UTD on all age-appropriate vaccines/preventatives. Adopters will need to establish vet care upon adopting to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness.
