She adores being with her people and wants to be part of everything you do. Whether she's following closely at your heels, curled up under your desk while you work, or finding the perfect spot on your lap for movie night, Mavis is happiest when she's by your side. If you stop walking, don't be surprised if she squeezes herself right between your ankles just to stay close! Her silky-soft coat makes her an expert cuddle buddy and a wonderful little lap warmer on chilly Colorado days. Weighing just 11 pounds, Mavis is the perfect size to accompany you on life's adventures. She rides beautifully in a crate in the car and is an easy travel companion. She enjoys going outside for walks and potty breaks and will happily spend a little time in a securely fenced yard, but before long she'll be waiting patiently at the door, ready to come back inside to her family. Mavis is wonderful with people of all ages, including young children, and gets along well with dogs of every size. She's also curious about cats. She has politely sniffed the resident cats without showing any aggression. While she may chase a shy cat that runs, it's out of curiosity rather than any desire to harm them. She's making great progress with her house training and improves every day. Mavis sleeps soundly through the night in her crate without accidents and is down to only an occasional daytime accident, so she's well on her way to being fully house trained. Mavis came to Colorado from a small, underserved shelter in Kansas in search of the loving home she deserves. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated for the next 11 months, and received a clean bill of health before making the journey.
