Meet Emmy! Emmy is a 23-lb. French Bulldog with a personality that’s far bigger than she is! This spunky, precocious little clown keeps everyone laughing with her goofy antics and zest for life. She may have diminished eyesight due to being a double merle, but don’t tell Emmy that—she tackles each day with confidence, curiosity, and a wagging butt. And when she gets especially excited, her adorable Frenchie ears flutter like little butterfly wings. It’s impossible not to smile when you see it.
She has a bit of a quirky head tilt that comes and goes - it tilts more when she’s really trying to make out what she’s looking at; we call it her "inquisitive look."
Emmy is an absolute sweetheart who loves her people. She’s great in a crate, rides beautifully in the car, and is always ready for her next adventure. One of her favorite things is zooming around the backyard and soaking up the sunshine. Because of her limited vision, Emmy will need a family who can help keep her safe. A securely fenced yard without a pool or other water hazards is important, and she’ll do best in a home without stairs and without large open drop-offs or obstacles that could cause injury. Once she learns her surroundings, she’s remarkably adaptable and gets around just fine.
Emmy loves toys - she likes to shake them and throw them around - so cute to watch!
She has only been with our rescue a short time, but she's already doing better with house training. She just started to signal when she needs to go outside, and she would definitely rather go potty outside. She’s had accidents in the house and we’ll just need a family that’s patient with her and available to take her out often.
Emmy is dog-friendly and would likely thrive with a patient canine companion who understands that she can’t always read normal dog body language or social cues. Since she can’t see well, she’s known to enthusiastically get right up into the personal space of both dogs and people —not because she’s impolite, but because she wants to make sure she doesn’t miss out on saying hello! A confident, tolerant dog friend would be a wonderful match. She’s also kid-friendly, though a home with children around 5 years and older would be the best fit. Emmy’s excitement and limited vision mean she may accidentally bump into or knock over smaller children while she’s happily making her rounds.
If you’re looking for a resilient little girl with a goofy spirit, endless love to give, and a heart that’s even bigger than her adorable Frenchie ears, Emmy might just be your perfect match. She doesn’t let her vision define her—and neither should you. All she wants is a family who will love her for the joyful, hilarious, affectionate little clown she is.
