This pup will be available to meet starting on 7/25Volunteer notes - Sparrow absolutely stole my heart. When I walked by his kennel, he was already waiting at the door, quietly begging me with these sweet puppy eyes to take him out He was super easy to leash and walked calmly through the kennels passing the other pups. I stopped him in the hallway for a photo, asked him to sit, and he did it instantly. This boy is smart, attentive, and so eager to listen. Outside, Sparrow was nothing but polite and sweet. He does a tiny little hop when he’s excited for treats but isn’t overly rambunctious. And the second you ask him to sit, he drops right down. He also kept rolling over to show me his belly, smiling the whole time, tail wagging nonstop. He’s just so happy! He also did great meeting another male dog, tail wagging the entire time. Sparrow was genuinely one of my favorites of the day. He’s an amazing dog with such a good heart and I know he’s going to make someone incredibly happy. They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. He has tested positive for heartworm. Treatment is covered by the rescue at one of our partner veterinarians. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
