Hello! I came to OCAS as a stray and I have adorably short legs! I tested positive for heartworms and OCAS is treating me, they can tell you more about that if you're interested in adopting me. I am sweet, funny, and ready to get into a home with my new family! In North Carolina, it's unfortunately common to see many dogs that are infected with heartworms (they are transmitted by mosquito bites). Heartworm disease may cause severe lung disease, heart failure, or other organ damage in dogs. It's usually fatal if left untreated. Heartworm treatment is costly. With your support, OCAS can help more dogs with this disease - resulting in healthier dogs that are even more likely to get adopted. Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign.Insights from adventure buddies and foster friends:`Flounder is the love of my life. He is absolutely the sweetest little man. The biggest yet small little hippo. He is so good when walking. Loves when people come and pet him. Not sure how he does with other dogs or cats but we walked past some dogs and he seemed to be fine. On our Dog Day Out, we went on a nice air conditioned car ride to a coffee shop. Headed to Loweâs and a pup cup.`
