Meet Jesse, a gentle soul who's quietly discovering that the world isn't as scary as he once thought.Jesse is a shy boy who has already made incredible progress in foster care. While he's still fearful of new people and unfamiliar situations, each day he becomes a little braver, a little more curious, and a little more confident. Watching him grow is incredibly rewarding. One thing that has made all the difference for Jesse is having other dogs around. He looks to his canine friends for reassurance, follows their lead, and gains confidence from watching them navigate the world. Because of this, Jesse will need a home with another friendly, confident dog to help him continue blossoming.Jesse is still learning to trust people, but he's making steady progress. A little cheese goes a long way toward winning him over, and while he may be nervous, he'll allow gentle handling as he continues building confidence. He's even allowed his foster to trim his nails and is learning that grooming doesn't have to be scary. His appetite has returned, he's maintaining a healthy weight, and he's slowly beginning to relax into the routines of home life. Jesse won't be the type of dog who instantly greets strangers with a wagging tail, but with patience, consistency, and a family that celebrates his small victories, he'll continue becoming the wonderful dog he's meant to be.Jesse is looking for a home that understands shy dogs—one that won't rush him or reinforce his fears, but instead will gently encourage him to discover his own courage at his own pace. For the family willing to give him that chance, watching Jesse come out of his shell will be one of the most rewarding journeys you could imagine. They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. This dog's adoption fee goes toward heartworm treatment for other deserving dogs within our rescue, helping save even more pets in need.Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
