Meet Mitzi! Mitzi is a gorgeous 4-year-old brindle girl with a gentle soul and a heart that's just waiting to fully bloom. While she may be a little shy when you first meet her, every day she becomes a little braver, a little more confident, and a little more eager to share her sweet personality.Mitzi is both house trained and crate trained, and she gets along well with other dogs. She's currently living with two larger dogs and has done well with them, though she may especially enjoy the company of calmer or smaller canine friends. She has not shown any signs of aggression and approaches the world with quiet curiosity.When Mitzi first arrived, she was very frightened, but she's already made wonderful progress. She's learning that people can be kind, gentle, and trustworthy. One of her favorite things is being petted—especially belly rubs and chest scratches! She's also starting to discover just how wonderful cuddling can be, and it's been a joy to watch her confidence grow.Mitzi is still getting used to walking on a leash, but she absolutely loves going for walks and gets excited when it's time to head outside. She's discovering that the world can be full of fun adventures, especially with someone she trusts by her side.Because of her timid nature, Mitzi would do best in a calmer home where people will give her the time and patience she needs to continue building confidence. She can be startled if someone approaches her too quickly or stands over her, but she's becoming more comfortable every day. She also shows some separation anxiety, so a family that's home often or willing to help her work through it would be ideal.Mitzi came to rescue with another dog, Tiger, after their family could no longer keep them due to housing circumstances. Through no fault of her own, she lost the only home she'd known.
