FLOYD NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Floyd Best Guess for Breed: Terrier mix
Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of June 2026 SEX: Male
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 15.4 lbs as of 7/12/26
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Floyd is Looking For: His forever home! This cutie is such a happy boy - he's all about play and snuggles. He wants a home where he gets lots of those! And when he gets bigger - world exploration! Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved, to always know where he belongs. In exchange he promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's storing up, and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Does Floyd get to grow up with you?
What My Foster Says About Me: Floyd is such a happy go lucky puppy! He chills quietly while in his crate - and when I come close to the crate, his ears perk up and he starts wagging his tail. I open the crate door, he leaps out happily and starts bouncing around. He entertains himself wonderfully with toys and with just jumping around inside the home and exploring with his nose and eyes.
He is fantastic with my resident dogs too (8 lbs, 19 lbs, and 48 lbs) - his tail is always wagging when they are around. He is very submissive during play with them and is generally respectful of them.
He loves food and treats, and that will help when training him to learn all he needs to know to be the best boy. And - I love this most of all - he is such an affectionate boy. He'll run up to me and ask for scratches and pets and snuggles. Such a sweetie.
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
