#MADloveHera came to us with 8 beautiful puppies. Now that she's been a great momma and the puppies are off, we've gotten a chance to learn about Hera. #MADloveHera is what we call a professional speedbump. She will walk right in front of you, and just to make sure you feel supported, will hold your paw while in the restroom. She is the definition of a velcro, wait no, construction-level adhesive, dog and the perfect example of what a dog can be when given time to decompress and open up. Hera LOVES to be close. And we don’t mean just next to you close. Hera likes to be in your skin close. She’s also been known to wash her handler’s face. How kind, right? She’ll also body slam you and give you a good elbow in the gut to let you know she’d like more scritches.She has learned she doesn’t have to react to everything and has been doing well with everything from wheelchairs to new people. Of course, we take all introductions slowly. She still needs a home that understands the breed and will take things slowly, specifically at her pace. Also, for now, little people are not recommended because they are a lot too unpredictable; saavy teenagers would be ok. She also needs a with low-traffic home as she is still reactive to strangers. This girl is EXTREMELY intelligent. On more than on occasion, she has taken food out of her crate (the slow feeder) and tipped it upside down because she just wanted to eat. Forget these silly slow-feeder games. Her perfect adopted will be someone who can stimulate her mentally. Oh, and turns out she likes bike-joring!
