Personality, Breed Info & Expectations
Chispita is a sweet, calm little puppy with a mellow personality and a gentle spirit. She has a softer energy than many puppies and enjoys affection, companionship, and relaxing close to her people. While she still has playful puppy curiosity, she carries herself with a calmness that makes her especially endearing.
She enjoys being cuddled, included in everyday life, and spending time near her humans. Chispita has a loving nature and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a puppy with both sweetness and a more relaxed temperament.
As a growing Terrier mix puppy, Chispita will likely mature into an intelligent, affectionate companion with playful personality and strong bonds with her family. Terrier mixes are often known for being engaging, loyal, and full of character.
Chispita would thrive in a home prepared for:
Ongoing puppy training and supervision
Structure and consistency
Daily companionship and interaction
A lifelong commitment to her emotional and physical well-being
Puppies require significant time, patience, supervision, training, and financial responsibility as they grow.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Many rescue puppies come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Even very young puppies require significant time, supervision, and guidance to learn how to properly navigate life in a home environment.
Because of this, adopters should be prepared for:
Potty training and accidents
Teething and chewing stages
Crate training and leash training
Nighttime wakeups and supervision
Ongoing socialization and structure
The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, basic structure, and socialization, adopters must be prepared to continue training and support after adoption.
Chispita will need:
Positive reinforcement training
Frequent potty breaks and supervision
Patience and consistency
Continued socialization and exposure
Routine and structure as she grows
Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule:
3 days to decompress
3 weeks to learn your routine
3 months to fully feel at home
With patience, training, and love, puppies like Chispita grow into wonderful lifelong companions.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Owning a puppy is a major lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life.
Chispita will need:
Ongoing puppy training and guidance
Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters
Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
Proper nutrition and growth monitoring
Daily exercise, enrichment, and companionship
A safe, stable, indoor living environment
Puppies require ongoing veterinary care throughout their first year, including booster vaccines, spay/neuter surgery when age-appropriate, and routine wellness monitoring.
Because Chispita is still very small, extra care should be taken around larger animals, rough play, stairs, and unsafe chewing hazards.
Chispita is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
