Because of this, adopters should be prepared for: Potty training and accidents Teething and chewing stages Crate training and leash training Nighttime wakeups and supervision Ongoing socialization and structure The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, basic structure, and socialization, adopters must be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Chispita will need: Ongoing puppy training and guidance Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and growth monitoring Daily exercise, enrichment, and companionship A safe, stable, indoor living environment Puppies require ongoing veterinary care throughout their first year, including booster vaccines, spay/neuter surgery when age-appropriate, and routine wellness monitoring. Because Chispita is still very small, extra care should be taken around larger animals, rough play, stairs, and unsafe chewing hazards.
