Personality, Breed Info & Expectations
Lavern is a bright, affectionate girl with a fun-loving personality and the kind of happy energy that makes every day feel a little lighter. She enjoys being around people, loves attention, and has an engaging personality that keeps her humans entertained.
She has beautifully grown beyond the tiny puppy stage while still keeping that playful Terrier spark. Lavern enjoys walks, interaction, and being included as part of everyday life with her family. She is loving, social, and eager to bond with her people.
As a Jack Russell Terrier mix, Lavern may show traits such as intelligence, curiosity, athleticism, and playful energy. Jack Russell Terrier mixes are often known for being clever, engaging dogs who thrive when they receive structure, companionship, and mental stimulation.
Lavern would thrive in a home that can provide:
Daily walks and activity
Mental stimulation and interaction
Structure and consistency
Companionship and inclusion as part of the family
She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, energetic, and engaging dog with lots of personality.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance.
Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning.
The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption.
Lavern will benefit from:
Positive reinforcement training
Structure and consistency
Continued socialization and engagement
Mental stimulation and routine
Patience during adjustment periods
Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule:
3 days to decompress
3 weeks to learn your routine
3 months to fully feel at home
With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility.
Lavern will need:
Daily walks, exercise, and interaction
Continued training and engagement
Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care
A safe, stable, indoor living environment
Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping her live a healthy and happy life.
Lavern is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
