Gus is a handsome boy looking for a home that understands his quirks and will love him for exactly who he is. Gus is a well-mannered boy who always tries to be on his best behavior! He will let you know when he needs to go outside by barking at the door, though like many dogs, he may still have the occasional accident if not let out to potty regularly. Gus is crate trained and is comfortable spending time in his crate while his people are away. He walks wonderfully on leash and knows the cue “sit”. Gus would likely enjoy continuing to learn with positive guidance and consistency! This sweet guy enjoys the simple things in life — especially car rides! Whether it’s a quick trip to grab a coffee or an outdoor adventure, Gus is happy to be your co-pilot. Gus loves feeling connected to his people. Gus previously lived with a large dog and did well. Though, he was a little too energetic for his older friend. Gas does have a strong prey drive and will chase small dogs and other small animals. Because of this, he would do best in a home without small pets. Gus would also thrive best in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy children, as he has previously not had positive interactions with small children. He is ready to find a family committed to helping him feel safe, understood, and loved. With the right home, Gus has all the potential to become a loyal and devoted companion.
