Travis came to the shelter on 5/2/2026 from the city pound, when his legal stray hold was finished. He's an approximately 2 to 3 year old pit bull type dog who is big and strong. He has a outgoing personality which kind of makes up for his lack of manners. He weighs around 65 pounds. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $150. Travis has had some basic training. He knows how to "sit" and walks pretty well on leash. He will need some regular exercise as he's energetic, kind of like a bull in a china shop. He's a happy guy who likes the company of people. We're thinking that he would do best as the only pet in the home. We think he would be okay with kids over 8. He's really a cool dog! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
