AVALANCHE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Avalanche Best Guess for Breed: Carolina Dog and lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 11 months as of April 2026 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 38 lbs as of 4/22/26; might have just a tiny bit more to grow
Gets Along With: Avalanche does well with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog. We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! She spent a night in foster care with cats and was good with them - was curious, didn't chase.
Currently Living at: DC area boarding partner

Special adoption considerations: Avalanche is shy - she needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes.
Avalanche is Looking For: This sweetie wants nothing more than to trot through the world with all the confidence of a well-loved family pet! Right now, she's timid. She needs extra patient and loving adopters to show her new environments at her pace, and a friendly resident dog who will show her how to dog! Avalanche is gonna be a great, loving, amazing addition to a household that is ready to give her all the socialization and love she needs. In exchange her humans will get so many adoring gazes, so much loyal companionship. What do you say? Will that be you?
What My Foster Says About Me: "Avalanche spent a night with us and she's such a great dog! She was curious about our cats but didn't chase them. And she loved our resident dog! She walked well on a leash. She didn't have accidents in the home. She initially wasn't sure about her crate but a treat helped her like it and she slept well in it overnight. All that was just the first night after she arrived. She will continue to blossom and make a wonderful addition to a lucky family."
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
