Olive, a lovable little Shih Tzu mix cuddle bug, adores being close to her people. She loves toys and has a playful, happy energy that makes her a joy to be around.
She is very food motivated, which makes training and bonding with her especially fun. Olive rides nicely in the car, making her a great companion for outings. She is also beginning to learn basic commands like “sit.”
She will do well with another small dog in the home or in a house where someone can give her a lot of attention. Olive came into the rescue as shy, timid, and insecure. Her foster mother has made a lot of progress with her to be confident. The adopter will need to continue with hands on time, reassurance, and training by someone who can be dedicated to her.
Olive is pee pad trained and is currently learning to potty outside. She does not like the leash and is still getting used to walking on one (her foster mom has been helping her build confidence). A home with a fenced-in yard would be ideal to help her adjust.
The average lifespan for this breed of dog is 15 years; therefore, Olive’s adopter will need to be prepared to keep her for around 14 more years so she will not have to move to a different home again.
Olive’s adoption fee is $620. This dog comes microchipped, spayed, up to date on all necessary vaccines/rabies shots, and heartworm tested as negative. She is currently being fostered in the Tampa/Orlando area.
