Tara needs a new home, and soon!
She is a sweet female, 44 lbs and between 6-8 years old, food motivated with a beautiful, silky-soft, black and white coat. Her DNA profile is a mix: 24% Bull Terrier, 22% American Staffordshire Terrier, 22 American Pit Bull Terrier, 16% Staffordshire Terrier, and 16% Boxer per DNA My Dog report.
Tara was rescued 4 years ago by a quiet senior lady. She is a well-loved companion, but at this time, Tara is a bit too much for my mama as she has Alzheimer's and lacks memory and mobility to care for her loved pet. Nevertheless, Tara dog is deserving of daily walks and the freedom of a bigger yard.
This dog is loving! She adores visiting with people and shares a delighted squeal when she sees her favorites. Tara is very people oriented. If her person is on the couch, she is too. She loves a good snuggle and cuddle and prefers to sleep on the bed. She enjoys getting some good smells on a leisurely walk. She is leash trained, but doesn’t have recall when off leash, so she could benefit from some obedience training. She has spent a wee bit of time in a crate and does well, but doesn’t enjoy going into the crate. Tara is house trained, but may get resentful if left alone for more than five hours, and may leave an unwanted gift on the carpet. If she has access to a mid-sized outdoor yard, she is trustworthy and reliable with her habits. Word has it she’s not good with cats, and when other dogs are present she is territorial about food. She is not up to date on her shots or vet care, but other than this last year, she saw the vet regularly for check ups. Current shots can be arranged prior to rehoming. **** Breed: mixed Pit and boxer **** Pet Link: https://www.nokillnetwork.org/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2196718&flag=1
