Meet Raye, the terrier mixed breed. Raye came to the Shelter with some siblings (Rory and Rome). They had been in a home environment with children, other dogs and farm animals. Upon arrival to the Shelter, Raye was initially really unsure of the new people and the environment. She has slowly started to come out of his shell. Raye would thrive in a savvy adoptive home that will be patient with her as she transitions. When she is feeling comfortable, she is a typical adolescent â running around, playing with toys and getting her ya-yaâs out. Raye may do well in a home with another dog after a meet ân greet here at the Shelter. Raye is available for pre-adoption at this time. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
