Peeps is a charming 20-pound Beagle who came to the rescue from southern Virginia alongside her friend Bun Bun. She has a wonderfully even temperament—sweet, friendly, and incredibly social. Peeps loves being around people and other dogs, happily joining in playtime and then curling up in your lap once she’s burned off some energy. Like many Beagles, she’s very food-motivated and will gladly work for treats, belly rubs, and ear scratches. She has never met a person or dog she doesn’t like, making her a fantastic fit for families with children or homes with another dog. She plays beautifully with others—whether it’s sharing a favorite marrow bone without issue or enjoying a good game of tug-of-war. Peeps is also delightfully curious, always following her nose on walks and investigating the world around her (especially anything interesting-smelling, like a trash can!). Despite the Beagle reputation for being vocal, she’s surprisingly quiet—she’s only howled once, and that was while trying to get the attention of some neighborhood foxes. Honestly, she’d probably invite them in to play if she could. With her gentle nature and love for everyone she meets, Peeps has all the qualities of a wonderful companion—and potentially even a future therapy dog. She’s as sweet as they come and ready to bring joy to her forever home.
