Hello world! It's me, Cartina, a pint sized precious 2-year-old, 15 lb (possible) Jack Russell mix ready to take over your lap like it's my one main job! I am full of life and energy, but equally happy to curl up and cuddle with my people, which I hope will find me soon. My story started in a way no dog deserves when I was found tied up outside of a grocery store in Newark, left behind and alone. I don't hold grudges, though, and I still have nothing but love to give for humans. My rescuers named me Cartina in honor of where I was found. It's nuts somebody abandoned me because I am a real social butterfly and enjoy being around good company rather than by myself. I'm great with other dogs and have done well with cats but I do like to play and chase them sometimes so a kitty companion should be a tolerant one. I'm working on house and crate training. While I do well in the crate at night, I'm not a big fan of it during the day yet. I would prefer a family with older, considerate children only or no children at all just because being with young children gets me too excitable at times. While I am small, I am mighty. I am working on not pulling on the leash; but spotting squirrels gets me going so if you happen to crave a squirrel-free yard, I may be your lady to chase them all away! I am a playful lady who loooves tennis balls and the rope toy; but watch out for your hands, sometimes I forget which is the toy but I promise I don't mean it! I am good in the car and enjoy a good nap but then again, who doesn't? My specialty is giving kisses to the people I adore! I am microchipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccines.
