Bear is 3 yrs old, has been neutered. He is a very living dog with those he loves. But Bear has become increasingly reactive to strangers and even our children’s friends! He seems to Prefer female companions over males. Shows affection to myself and kids but not my husband. Doesn’t really care for my two adult sons. But is friendly and living toward my son in law? He is beautiful and smart but no longer safe for my family to keep! He has bitten kids multiple times now, always in pursuit! If a child goes running through the yard just in play he has bitten them in the heels. I thought this was just rough play but the other day a friend was over and he was inside where he usually is not and when the kids opened the door to let her in he and my mother dog, his sister instantly reacted with aggression and charged the girl and Bear but her on the heel as she ran away! It was a very stressful situation and now we are left with Rehoming to a safe place for both dogs or behavioral euthanasia! We live this dog and want to search out every option before committing to putting them down! Please help if it’s safe to do So!
