Hi there, future best friend! My name is Archer, and Iâm a handsome 1-year-old black Lab with a heart thatâs just waiting to shine. I found my way to the shelter as a stray, so Iâm still figuring out this big, busy world but I promise Iâm trying my best every single day.At first I can be a little shy, especially around men, so I need someone patient who will take things slow and let me build trust at my own pace. Once I feel safe though, my sweet side really comes out. I love attention, enjoy being near my people, and Iâve got plenty of love (and tail wags!) to give.Iâve done well in playgroups here, so I might enjoy having a canine sibling, but weâd definitely need to meet first to make sure weâre a good match.Iâm still a young guy and have a lot to learn. Iâll need an experienced owner who can help me with basic training and building confidence. I recently tried out a home, and it just wasnât the right fit for me yet. I got overwhelmed meeting new people too quickly and showed that I need slower introductions and someone who understands my comfort level especially around men.Iâm also not fully crate trained yet and have proven to be a bit of an escape artist, so if you plan to use a crate, itâll need to be extra sturdy and paired with some training to help me feel safe and secure. Iâd really benefit from someone willing to work with me (maybe even a trainer!) to help me learn routines and expectations. The good news? Iâm young, smart, and eager to bondâ¦. I just need the right person to guide me. If youâre patient, experienced, and believe in helping a dog grow into his best self, I think we could be something really special.Come meet me and letâs start our story together. If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict.Your dogâs adoption fee includes:- Current age-appropriate CORE Vaccines (Rabies/DHPP/Bordetella)- Heartworm Tested- Current on NexGard PLUS Monthly Preventative Chew (Flea/Tick/Heartworm Preventative & Dewormer)- Spaying or Neutering- 24-Petwatch MicrochipAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2026 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older.
