Help Axel Grow BraveAxel is a quiet, sensitive puppy who is still learning that the world—and people—can be kind.He tends to feel more comfortable around other dogs at first, taking his cues from them while he figures things out. With people, Axel prefers a gentle, patient approach. When you give him the space to come to you, he’ll offer a soft little sniff… and sometimes even a sweet kiss. It’s a small moment, but it feels like something truly special.Axel allows pets and responds well to slow movements and soothing voices. He can be a bit shy, but with kindness and reassurance, he gathers his courage. Once he’s leashed, he walks nicely to the yard and stays close, quietly taking everything in.He’s learning the basics like “sit,” “touch,” and leash skills, and while he’s not very treat-driven yet, he’s making steady progress with confidence building. Axel is also calm around other dogs and doesn’t bark, though he’ll occasionally perk up to greet a familiar friend. What Axel needs most is a patient, understanding home where he can go at his own pace and continue to grow into the loving companion he’s meant to be. Axel needed a friend in our shelter so we introduced him to a couple of dog social adult dogs and they're currently sharing a kennel. He was scared of them at first but they're teaching him that dog friends can be great.
