Baby is a young lab mix with a heart full of love and a personality that makes her feel like she’s always been part of the family. From the moment she arrived, she settled right in—no shyness, no hesitation—just a sweet, happy girl ready to love and be loved. If you’re looking for a constant companion, Baby is your girl. She loves being in the middle of whatever is going on—lounging on the kitchen floor while you cook, patiently waiting nearby while you get ready, or curling up right next to you (or on your lap!) when it’s time to relax. She truly just wants to be near her people. That said, she also has a nice independent side and is perfectly content relaxing in her crate or on a nearby dog bed, happily entertaining herself with toys. Baby is fully potty trained (only goes outside) and does an amazing job keeping her crate clean both during the day and overnight. She’s still working on clearly signaling when she needs to go out, so keeping her on a routine works best for her right now. She’s also crate trained and settles in nicely. Outside is where Baby really shines. She loves exploring the yard, keeping an eye on squirrels and bunnies, and stretching her legs with full-speed zoomies. While she doesn’t absolutely require a fenced yard, she would thrive with one—she truly enjoys having space to run and burn off some of her playful, active energy. She also loves long walks and does quite well on a leash, though continued training will help her stay focused in more distracting environments. Baby is very food motivated, which makes training both fun and effective. She enjoys all kinds of toys—especially tough, squeaky, and bouncy ones—and is a big fan of enrichment like frozen Kongs and chew bones. In busier public settings, Baby can be a bit cautious with loud or overwhelming energy, especially with boisterous children. She does well with other dogs but may need a little time to warm up before jumping into play. She would do best in a home that matches her balanced personality—active and engaging, but not overly chaotic. Baby is that perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and easygoing—a loyal companion who will follow you from room to room, always ready to be part of your day. She is the happiest little shadow you didn’t know you needed! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
