Meet Meeko! Meeko is a sweet 7-year-old Lhasa Apso who has been with the same family since he was purchased as a puppy from a pet store. Unfortunately, he lost his home when a young child in the family developed allergies. (He is hypoallergenic, but sometimes life just throws curveballs.) Meeko is a gentle, low-maintenance boy who simply wants to be wherever you are. He loves attention and is happy to follow you from room to room. He gets along well with other dogs, kids, and even cats, and enjoys light playtime without being overly energetic. Right now, Meeko is quite overweight and needs to lose about half his body weight for a healthier, happier life. We’ve already started him on a proper diet with portion control and no more table scraps. With consistent healthy eating and some gentle daily activity, the weight should come off steadily. This affectionate little guy is easy to care for and would make a wonderful companion for someone who wants a calm, loving lap dog. If you’re looking for a sweet, laid-back senior who will adore being part of your everyday life, Meeko is hoping you’ll give him another chance at a forever home. Adoption fee is $250 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older
