Mandy – Mellow Senior with a Gentle Spirit Mandy is a 13-year-old Shepherd mix weighing about 78 pounds. This calm, easygoing senior lady enjoys the simple pleasures in life—quiet walks, interesting smells, and a little affection along the way. Relaxed walking companion: Mandy walks nicely on leash, with only occasional pulling when something interesting catches her attention. Curious explorer: She especially enjoys taking her time to sniff and explore her surroundings during outings. Independent but warm: Mandy may seem a bit independent at first, but she gradually opens up—especially after a fun game of “find-it” with treats. Gentle and affectionate: Once comfortable, she approaches for treats and chest scratches, taking treats softly and politely. Calm around other dogs: Volunteers have not observed any reactivity toward other dogs in her ward.
