He forms an exceptionally strong bond with one person and prefers to keep that person all to himself, which can lead to possessive behavior around others. Because of this, Emmit's ideal home is with a single adult where he can be the only pet. He is not a good fit for homes with children or other animals. If there is a time where other people are over, Emmit needs to be put away and kenneled to prevent any accidents.
