He was found abandoned outdoors with several other dogs, but you’d never guess it from his sweet, steady presence. Volunteers absolutely adore him and it’s easy to see why. Despite his size, he walks in a relaxed pace by your side. He takes treats politely, nudges gently for pets, and gives kisses freely. Around other dogs, Polar Bear is calm and neutral, often choosing to do his own thing. He’d do well either as a solo dog or with a mellow, well-matched canine friend. On a recent field trip to Lincoln Park, Polar Bear showed off his A+ leash manners. This good boy was unfazed by other dogs and strangers. When he spotted small animals, he wagged his tail… that’s it. He is still building confidence with certain things (cars and unfamiliar surfaces can feel a bit scary) but with patience, kindness, and encouragement, he’s already making progress.
