Zoey | 1 year old | Spayed| Good with DogsZoey was set to be euthanized the next day and was said to be mid-term pregnant. Pawfect Match rescued her just in time and just three days later, she gave birth to four beautiful puppies in foster. Just a puppy herself, she is a spunky girl who loves to wrestle and play with her other 6-month-old foster siblings. The younger pups usually tired out before she does! She gets excited and does zoomies all around, playing rough until she gets all her energy out. Then she likes to snuggle in a pup pile with her other foster siblings or climb into bed inside the crate and take a nice long nap, but your lap does quite nicely too! If you sit on the floor with her, she'll end up on her back soaking up the love. She will make a great snuggling on the couch kind of girl. We don't crate her, she has her choice to be out, but there are two crates she has access to in the kitchen, a large one and a medium one. She lets herself into the smaller crate to take a nap and also sleeps there throughout the night. She is uncertain of meeting new people, and can be slow to warm up. She has been in a house with two young children and that did not go well. A family with children is NOT recommended. If children are in your life or come to visit your home, proper precautions need to be made. Zoey needs patience with training. She has a bad habit of jumping up and does not always sit on command. She is not much of a barker and is quiet outside, unless someone walks by or stops by for a delivery, then she is in full defense mode! Also be aware that if left alone, she is an escape artist! She has chewed multiple holes and escaped out of our chain link kennel enclosure on several occasions, so chain link fencing is a no-go! She has chewed several harnesses off herself in order to run free and she also attempts to chew through her lead when she is tethered. Zoey gets along with all other dogs, with proper introductions. She would do well in a household with another dog with her same energy level. If left alone, Zoey tends to get bored and sometimes becomes destructive. I don't personally crate her, but you could crate her for a short period if you were going to be gone and didn't trust her alone in the house. She has alot of energy and needs to have rough playtime and hard bones to chew on. She has a strong prey drive for small animals. She chases squirrels and sadly got ahold of one of our free range chickens. I keep a shorter lead on her now and keep an eye on her when she is outside. Despite her negatives, Zoey is a very sweet and loving girl. When she trusts you, she just wants to be close to you and she loves to snuggle. She jumps up and wraps her paws around your hand or arm, which is really sweet. Zoey deserves the right family who will give her the love, patience and attention she deserves!
The adoption fee is $400, which covers food, vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet. All dogs have had a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue's best guess and not guaranteed.
