Dolly’s Story
A local street-dog advocate found this precious girl in one of the most neglected parts of town, Sunnyside, a place marked by deep poverty and heartbreaking suffering. Dolly had been left to die.
She was matted to the skin, covered in fleas, starving, and barely hanging on. She needed help, and we immediately said yes.
Once Dolly was bathed and shaved, the full extent of her condition became clear. She was severely emaciated, weighing under 10 pounds when she should have been at least 15. Every bone in her back and hips was visible.
We started her on a careful refeeding plan with high-calorie puppy food, plus liver and probiotics to help restore her strength. She received a full veterinary exam and has since made an incredible recovery.
Today, Dolly is thriving. She has gained all her weight back and now weighs a healthy 17 pounds. She has been dewormed, is spayed, and is doggie door trained.
Despite everything she has endured, Dolly is gentle, loving, and the perfect little bed buddy. Her spirit is soft, sweet, and resilient. She just needed someone to care.
Dolly’s journey has come so far, and now she is truly ready for her forever home.
Can you help this sweet girl become the amazing dog she was always meant to be?
Adopt, foster, donate, or simply share her story. You can be part of Dolly’s second chance.
