German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat) • Senior • Male • Large
San Diego, CA
Theo joined our rescue earlier this year. Sadly for Theo, he has spent the majority of his 10 years in a kennel with little connection to the outside world. Now at the Ranch, he's discovering a whole new life—meeting new people, enjoying the freedom of regular walks outside, and playing to his heart’s content in a spacious play yard.
Theo loves, loves, loves to play ball and he also likes toys. Having had training before to his previous stay in the prior kennel, he is very obedient and easy to walk on a leash. He knows “sit,” “down,” and “heal,” among other commands.
Besides being a little hard of hearing, one wouldn’t guess Theo to be 10 years old given his stature and strength and the way he easily chases after his ball when playing fetch.
We’re hoping to find Theo a loving home where he’ll be cherished for the wonderful dog he is so he won't have to spend most his entire life in a kennel environment. The best home for Theo would be a home without children. If you would like to learn more about Theo, let us know!

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.
Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next!
