Because he’s “just a plain brown dog,” he keeps getting overlooked — and we truly can’t understand why. This boy is AMAZING.Vander came to us from Soi Dog in Thailand and has been waiting far too long for his chance at a family. He’s 3 years old, about 45 lbs, and an absolute favorite among our volunteers. He greets everyone with enthusiasm, loves affection and pets, and has always done wonderfully with other dogs. He’s shared kennels successfully and thrives in larger playgroups. His best friend and kennel mate was adopted on Monday… and once again, sweet Vander was left behind.He does take a minute to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, you’ll see exactly what we see: a loyal, loving, adventure-ready best friend. Vander loves hikes, walks beautifully on leash, and is happiest when he’s out exploring with his people. He could be your jogging buddy, hiking partner, couch companion, or the perfect addition to an existing pack.Between Soi Dog and The Barking Lot, Vander has spent nearly his entire life in rescue.
